League of Nations
Founded in the aftermath of World War I with the aim of establishing peace and stability, the League of Nations was the first global peace organization to set the direction of international diplomacy. However, the shadow of war's devastation still threatens the world. As the 1920s and 30s were shaped by both diplomatic turmoil and rising nationalism and arms race, the League's most important task was to prevent the outbreak of a new global war.
This committee aims to assess political, economic and military tensions between states and find solutions. Delegates should assume the responsibility of finding peaceful solutions, proposing proposals to prevent international crises and building the cornerstones of lasting peace. Disarmament, border disputes, minority rights, economic sanctions and diplomatic mediation are just some of the topics of discussion at the center of this committee.
The League of Nations Committee aims to envision an alternative future within the framework of historical reality. Delegates are expected not only to understand the past, but also to build diplomatic bridges between different interests in order to find constructive solutions to prevent war.
